The Small Enterprise Finance Agency (Sefa) reaffirmed its commitment to supporting women-owned businesses during an event held in eMalahleni on August 31 in honor of Women’s Month. Sefa operates under the Department of Small Business Development (DSBD) and focuses on fostering the establishment, development, and growth of Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) and cooperatives. This initiative aims not only to support Female Entrepreneurs but also to contribute to poverty alleviation, job creation, and overall economic growth.
The event provided a platform for face-to-face engagement with Female Entrepreneurs, welcoming both experienced business owners and aspiring start-ups. Women had the opportunity to learn about the various products and programs offered by Sefa to support women-owned businesses.
Sefa’s commitment to empowering women in business is not limited to Women’s Month; it is an ongoing dedication. By providing women with essential resources, knowledge, and opportunities, Sefa plays a vital role in fostering a more inclusive and economically robust society. This initiative aligns with Sefa’s broader mission of promoting the growth and success of SMMEs and cooperatives, contributing to the development of a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in South Africa.
