Canon (www.Canon-CNA.com) closes the ‘Women Who Empower’ program with an exclusive media event on July 24 in Lagos, Nigeria. 15 participants from WISCAR (Women in Successful Careers) present their talents in an exhibition.

Canon, a worldwide imaging solutions provider, has successfully completed “Women Who Empower,” a collaboration with WISCAR (Women in Successful Careers). A month-long campaign to empower women in the print and image industries culminated in an event on July 24th at Radisson Blu Ikeja, Lagos. Participants and guests included media, industry leaders, and senior executives from Canon and WISCAR.

The program was divided into three modules: printing, photography, and content development, each of which aimed to provide the 15 participants with valuable skills and information. Daniel Ehimen, a Nigerian cinematographer and director, served as Canon Ambassador and led the content production program. Emmanuel Oyeleke, a Nigerian lifestyle photographer and Canon ambassador, conducted the photography curriculum and printing module.
This project, like Canon’s many diversity and inclusivity programs, is consistent with the company’s corporate concept of ‘Kyosei,’ which implies living and working together for the common good.

Mrs. Amina Oyagbola, Founder&Chairperson WISCAR said, ”Our cooperation with Canon has been a huge success, supporting women in the print and imaging industries. This collaboration provides a strong model for collaborations that break down barriers, promote substantial change, and pave the way for a more inclusive future in the print and image industries. At WISCAR, we believe in the transforming power of empowering women and girls, and this collaboration exemplifies our ideals of motivating, teaching, and mentoring women to attain their greatest potential. We have made a tangible difference in the lives of Nigerian women through our collaboration, and we hope to continue this essential work, producing a ripple effect of positive change that will resound throughout the industry and beyond.”

Somesh Adukia, Managing Director- Canon Central&North Africa, added, “Canon is driven by a steadfast dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion. These basic principles are more than just goals; they serve as the foundation for a thriving and innovative future. We believe in fostering an atmosphere in which everyone may thrive, and working with partners like WISCAR strengthens this commitment. Together, we are defining a more inclusive and revolutionary future for the imaging business.”

The program concluded with a compelling portfolio exhibition in which participants showcased their exceptional achievements and newly acquired skills. The exhibition attracted spectators with its combination of evocative pictures, engaging storytelling, and dynamic video content, each a lively representation of the participants’ individual talents and passions.
