Juventus Women’s historic first-ever US Tour concluded with a triumphant victory, as the Bianconere secured the Women’s Cup title in Louisville, Kentucky. They defeated Palmeiras 1-0 in the final, bringing the trophy back to Turin.
Chiara Beccari scored the match’s only goal in the first half, capping off a successful experience in the United States. The Bianconere started the game strongly, with Beccari standing out from the beginning. Just three minutes in, she received a pass from Sofia Cantore but couldn’t capitalize on the early opportunity.
Beccari continued to threaten and finally broke the deadlock just before halftime. Set up by MVP Amalie Vangsgaard, Beccari’s first touch was exquisite, positioning her perfectly to slot the ball into the net.
At the start of the second half, goalkeeper Alessia Capelletti made crucial saves to keep Palmeiras at bay as the Brazilian side pressed for an equalizer. Juventus nearly doubled their lead when Cristiana Girelli connected with a cross from Alisha Lehmann, only to see her effort hit the woodwork.
No further goals were scored, and the Bianconere celebrated their first trophy under new coach Massimiliano Canzi, marking a strong start to their new era.
After the match, Canzi reflected on the significance of the victory: “Winning The Women’s Cup is very important to us. We faced strong teams, especially in today’s tough match. Either side could have won, but I think we were better in the first half and could have scored more. I’m very happy with the girls’ efforts.”
He added, “We gave everything we had, and it’s a great way to start the season. Now we have a couple of days off as August 15 is a holiday in Italy. We’ll rest and then get back to work.”
He concluded, “We always aim to score more goals. We’ve had a good pre-season with strong performances, and I believe we’re approaching matches with the right mindset.”
