The company board of Rabobank Australia Limited issued a statement announcing that it had accepted the resignation of Lara Yocarini from the company, following her assumption of the office of Chief Executive at Rabobank’s global asset finance subsidiary, De Lage Landen (DLL), and as a member of the Managing Board of Rabobank. The company board of directors announced that as of 24 September 2024, Angelique Meddeler, Global Chief Compliance Officer for Rabobank Group, would be a member of the Company Board.

Rich global banking experience and a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape make Ms Meddeler an outstanding appointment to the board, said Rabobank Australia Chair James Fazzino in announcing the appointment. “Angelique’s diversity across different roles will bring invaluable insights into our strategic direction,” added Mr. Fazzino.

She has joined Rabobank as Chief Compliance Officer, based in Utrecht, Netherlands and brings 30 years of experience in the retail and wholesale banking sector. She has been on board since December 2021. She looks after all the compliance matters at the bank. She has been working at ING Bank since over 25 years in several senior capacities. Other titles being featured include Global FEC/AML Lead, Global Head of Client Services in Wholesale Banking, and Head of International Business Clients.

Rabobank Australia is the local operation of the international cooperative Rabobank Group-a bank that is regarded by many to be the world’s specialist food and agribusiness bank. In Australia, it is the country’s major agricultural bank because it provides corporate and business banking to the food and agribusiness sectors. It also operates the online retail savings and deposits facility that is Rabobank Online Savings.

Ms. Meddeler joined an experienced board that included Chair James Fazzino as well as directors Jillian Segal AO, Christine Feldmanis, Clive Stiff, Geerten Battjes and Rabobank Australia CEO Mark Wiessing. As a team of leaders, they came together to focus on driving strategic initiatives that would continue to play to Rabobank’s strengths but in serving the agricultural sector with all its best assets to its optimal position in the banking landscape.

As Rabobank Australia lives in the midst of this change, the appointment of Ms. Meddeler will be justified in further enhancing the governance and compliance framework for the bank, which would drive further Rabobank’s mission to deliver personalized financial solutions to their clients.
